Goreme Open Air Museum is one of the Turkey's Unesco World Heritage Site, it is a complex of medieval painted cave churches carved out by Orthodox monks.
The area covered by this Open Air Museum forms a coherent geographical entity and represents historical unity. There are eleven refectories within the Museum, with rock-cut churches tables and benches. Each is associated with a church. Most of the churches in Goreme Open Air Museum belong to the 10th, 11th and 12th centuries. St. Barbara Church, Apple (Elmali) Church, Snake (Yilanli) Church, Dark Church (Karanlik Kilise), Carikli (Sandals) Church and Buckle (Tokali) Church can be visited in the Goreme Open Air Museum.
Visiting Information;
Winter Season: November - March Goreme Open Air Museum can be visited between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Ticket booths close at 4:00 PM
Summer Season: April - October Goreme Open Air Museum can be visited between 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Ticket booths close at 6:00 PM
Open: Goreme Open Air Museum can be visited everday.
