Where to stay in Cappadocia

Cappadocia and its magical landscape bedecked with fairy chimneys and has one of the world’s most unusual and beautiful rock formations. The hot air balloons rise in the morning with the sun is one of the most amazing traveling experience. Which area should you choose to stay in Cappadocia? Goreme

 

Goreme has mostly budget and mid-range cappadocia cave hotels and is a much smaller town, but it’s advantage to its close proximity to one of Cappadocia’s most important sites: Goreme Open Air Museum , the famous Uchisar Castle. Göreme is the better place to stay in Cappadocia. However, do be aware that other main sights such as the underground cities, the Monk’s Valley, the Ihlara Gorge, Camel Rock, and Soğanlı Valley are all driving (or bus) distance from Goreme.

Urgup

One of Cappadocia’s largest towns, Ürgüp is famous for its wine with the Turasan Winery supplying around 60% percent of all Cappadocia wines. As such, it would be safe to say that Urgup is definitely a great destination for wine lovers. Another important point about Urgup is that it has the highest quality and greatest selection when it comes to accommodation. Urgup is the region where the best hotels in Cappadocia are located.

Uchisar

Uchisar is less busy and more quiet but still close and reasonably touristic. It is only a 10 minute taxi ride from Goreme and has the best views of the hot air balloons. Uchisar is the small town where the best Luxury cave hotels in Cappadocia.
